Pineapple Aloha Burger

Hawaiian Gold pineapple, cored, sliced into rings | 2 rings |
Lightlife® Plant-Based Burger | 2 each |
Safflower oil | 2 tsp. |
Salt | ¼ tsp. |
Black pepper | ¼ tsp. |
Sesame seed burger buns | 2 each |
Baby arugula | 1 cup |
Crispy fried onions | ¼ cup |
Honey-garlic barbecue sauce, prepared | 2 Tbsp. |
Method
- On an open flame or in a hot grill pan over medium heat, add pineapple. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until grill-marked and slightly caramelized. Cut slices in half; set aside.
- Season Plant-Based Burger patties with oil, salt and pepper. On the same surface over medium heat, cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until evenly brown and the internal temperature has reached 165°F.
- Lightly toast buns.
- Build each burger with arugula, Plant-Based Burger patty, pineapple, fried onions and a drizzle of barbecue sauce.
